Compliance Officer

Agius & Partners is seeking a seasoned Compliance Officer with a strong background in Private Banking in Geneva.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct compliance assessments in accordance with money laundering regulations and address any potential money laundering concerns.
• Evaluate new account openings and present clients deemed high-risk to the Executive Board.
• Oversee and evaluate transactions that are categorized as high-risk.
• Compile documentation required for both internal and external audits.
• Support in the management and ongoing enhancement of the AML control framework.
• Play a role in educating the team on anti-money laundering practices.
• Revise, enhance, and maintain internal cross-border policies and guidelines.
• Oversee partnerships with external entities such as asset managers, delegates, and intermediaries.
• Update and refine internal policies, as well as the associated monitoring and training initiatives.
• Serve as the point of contact for compliance-related discussions with external organizations (e.g., the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland, MROS).
• Provide supervision and training to team members on anti-money laundering and cross-border activities.

Qualifications:

• Proven professional experience in anti-money laundering and compliance within a financial institution or consultancy, preferably in an international setting.
• Awareness of risk and the ability to make balanced decisions.
• A keen interest in understanding the core banking system to effectively manage compliance-related data.
• Familiarity with FATCA/QI/AIA regulations.
• A stable and objective individual who can address compliance issues collaboratively with the front office.
• Self-motivated, with a meticulous and reliable approach to work.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• Proficient in English, with a good command of French and/or German is ideal.
